Let the Countdown Begin!

First let me say I hope you all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend! Please remember our men and women in uniform as they are protecting us everyday. Also, remember all those who have paid the almighty price for not only theirs but our FREEDOM! Thank You =)

Now please let the countdown begin.....There are only 11 school days left in the 2007-2008 school year! Yippee!!!!! EOG's are over - for those of you who know what they are, what a relief!! For those of you who do not..They are End Of Grade tests that we take starting in the 3rd grade, testing on Reading (1 day) and Math (2 days) skills. We also take a writing test in 4th and 7th-both boys encountered that this year...how fun! In Fifth and 8th they have added a Science EOG. #1 took the very first one when the scores didn't count, it was a test of the test, get it=) So next year #1 and #2 will have to take them for real! Anyways, all the tests are behind us and we should get scores-depending on their teachers within this next week. However we will get the actual paper scores when report cards come home. Writing they take in March/April- #1 received his score on Friday. All these tests are on a scale from 1-4 one being the lowest and 4 being above average. Well he was dissappointed he missed a 4 by ONE POINT! Then he proceeded to tell me that a kid in his class got the only 4 and he never pays attention or does his work. My response...he must of paid attention when it mattered the most! Also that he did a great job, yadda yadda...all the things an encouraging parent would say! I cannot wait to see #1's Math scores for he said one of the Math test days was tough- he was testing on Pre-Algebra- that was like high school for me, I think;)

This weekend is always a little crazy for us... My tech guy's Uncle Shawn is in town for the races and he is staying with us for a few days. He heads off to the track tomorrow with other members of the family. We do not go to the race track- we have taken the kids to Poll-Night a few times but we stopped that b/c I got stuck taking 3kids last time with Uncle Shawn and my tech guy was stuck working. It was a nightmare. #1 LOVED IT as he always does, #2 was ok until he couldn't stand the noise any longer so he begged to go home after 5 cars qualified. #3 once she heard the cars, she was DONE! So it was constant #2&3.... can we go, please mom, can we leave, #1 just be quiet #2&3.

We normally go to uptown Charlotte for Speed Streets, fun NASCAR stuff for everyone and some great concerts. Lots of freebies, things to see. However in the past we have taken the kids out of school after EOG's are done for the day and go while everyone is still working. Not this year!! Since I am working I couldn't just leave so we went to the Circus Thursday evening-sorry no pics my camera wouldn't get any good shots. Then decided to go Friday night to the NASCAR thing- WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! Do Not EVER do that if you want to be able to see ANYTHING there or value your life in anyway!! The uptown bar crowd is out and with all the Nasar fans you see NOTHING! it was ridiculous and we have learned a lesson this year. The kids normally enjoy it, this year, nope everyone wanted to leave so we did!

Today we traveled 2 hours from home to Burke county for a family bday party. Then 2 hours home-the drive STINKS!! The kids had fun- water balloon fight kept them all busy.

Tomorrow is clean the house day and watch the race on TV, nope not going anywhere near that traffic! We are getting snacks and pizza and watching the race. Nothing like the comforts of home- no drunk people, red-neck women (sorry if I offend)wearing close to nothing, like they are heading to their night job, hoping to see their favorite driver-here it is Jr land,(not for us-we don't fit in), and hoping he sees them. Red neck men-(sorry to offend again), do I need to say more?

Monday we are off to my Tech Guy's mom's house that is 1&1/2 hours away. To cook out with the rest of the family, before Uncle Shawn heads back to NY. The kids will swim all day and not want to stop and eat at all. Then back home to get ready for school on Tuesday.

Tuesday is also My Tech Guy and my 13th Anniversary~ wow that is way too long ;) Just kidding=) Probably won't do anything seeing it falls on the weekday this year and we have to all get up for work and school the next day.

Enjoy your holiday on Monday and remember our fallen and our fighting!
