Madelyn's First Day of Kindergarten

Well here it is, my baby girls First day of Kindergarten. Her school career has begun! Let me say that we both woke with excitement. Madelyn was in a great mood~ I LOVE those mornings and makes things easier! So after the typical morning routine: potty, breakfast, dressed, teeth brushed, face washed, hair combed and piggy-tails in and shoes on we made sure her backpack was packed and she had her lunch, the bag of supplies for the classroom: extra crayons, pencils, hand soap, post-it notes, play-doh, glue sticks, liquid glue, tissues, paper towels. OH MY the list goes on and on! Finally outside to take pictures....

Into the class and putting her things into her cubby.

Already making friends =)

New School Year Has FINALLY Arrived!

WiTh a new school year started, (yesterday), we have hit yet another milestone for all 3 of my kids.

BEfOre dropping Ryan off to his first ever day of HIgH sChOOL, yes he is a FrEShMan, I told him that I hope he has a great day and to remember everything about his first day. NOt only b/c I want to know alllll about it but I want him to start to journal about what will be some of the BeSt and maybe some that appear to be the wOrST days of his life. (The first worst day being Thursday when he has to catch his bus at 6:22am for a 7:15am school start time. This is what happens when Scott has to be out of town, I can't leave the other 2 home alone)! After dropping Ryan off to his very first day of high school, the first day as a FrEShMan, I drove away and shed a few tears. Just thought about how quickly my kids are growing up. We only have 4 little years left until our oldest son goes off to college and starts his own adult life.

I arrive back home to see that Zachary is up and having breakfast. YEsTeRdAy Zachary started his first ever day of MIdDlE SchOOl! He was finally ready to get out the door, so we headed to the front of the development, to wait on the bus. NO I did not bring him to school-his bus doesn't come until 8:24a.m. and that is far better than 6:22a.m.. I did wait for his bus to come to make sure he got on it! Before he stood out there, I wished him an excellent first day and to listen and behave! Off he went with all the neighborhood kids and seemed to fit right in, especially b/c he is taller than one of the boys that is in 8th grade. I sat and enjoyed watching him laugh and smile as the others were talking. Once again the tears were shed~ he has grown so quickly and is getting so TaLL. The 3 Middle School years went so quickly for Ryan that I am sure they will go just as quick with Zachary. I can't wait to hear about his day!

BacK home I come to realize, ahhh, summer has come to an end and it is sooo quiet. Then about an hour later Madelyn wakes up, ut oh, why is she here? Wait, what? (sigh) Oh ok, she doesn't start her FiRSt day of KIndeRGarTEn until Friday. Yes, MaDElYn starts KiNDeRGarTeN this school year! Here we have a staggered start for kindergarten. Only 4 or 5 kids will go per day for the first week and MaDElYn doesn't have her first day until Friday. Where she will be assessed with the Kindergarten Entry Assessment-basically to see what she knows. So on Friday I will post her first day picture. I will not post my tears that I know I will shed that day. She is very excited and every day she woke this week only to ask, do I go to school today? These pictures of her are from her Open House to find out who her teacher is.

I hope all my mommy friends had a nice peaceful day that you waited all summer to get and hoping their kids had a great first day at school.
