Fabulous Friday =)

You are most likely to succeed if you are working with other talented people. You thrive on a team.

Your greatest skill is your intense focus. You are able to ignore distractions and do what needs to be done.

Your biggest stumbling block in life is your lack of self confidence. You are a lot more capable than you give yourself credit for.

Mother Nature (Hurricane Faye), What happened to my 6 hours?

Some of you may know, most of you may not. I lost my 6 hours of semi-peace and quiet WED.!!!! What a sad, sad day =( The day started like this....

I awake at approx. 3a.m. to the crackle of thunder and some bright flashing lights. I hear rain, a VERY HARD RAIN. I look out the window and the rain is coming down in SHEETS!! It had been raining pretty much all day into the night.

I turn the t.v. on and we are having a major rain and under a tornado watch. I turn the t.v. back off and fall asleep to be awoken again at 6a.m. to the sound of the phone. I answer it and it is our school superintendent, letting us know school will be delayed 2hours due to the rain and FLOODING!!! I get up and turn off the boys alarm clock and skipped mine up a couple hours~ yeah sleep!!!

Anyways, I sense someone over my bed and there is #2, 3rd day of school and he has a built in alarm clock already, saying Mommy it is 7:05a.m. Worried like I have overslept and so has he. I said it is ok go back to bed you are on a 2hr delay. He said ok. Just as I closed my eyes, thinking I am going to get a little more sleep the phone rang at 7:10a.m. The voice of that darn superintendent again.... Due to major flooding in our area school will be closed today, yadda yadda. I really didn't hear what he had to say after that because I went into crisis mode~ MY KIDS ARE HOME ALL DAY ALREADY!!!!! HELP!!!!!

Then #2 makes his way into my room AGAIN, as if to rub salt into an open wound, Mommy school is cancelled today, I just rolled over and in a disgusted voice told him I knew, and tried to fall back asleep, tried to sleep my day away however my kids would have NONE of that! I was up at 8am, not to bad and the chaos already had started!!!

Now I know we needed rain , however we didn't need this much rain, dearest Mother Nature, Hurricane Faye or whomever is taking responsibility!

That article link above is the county we live in. Right near #1's Middle school was where a lot of flooding happened among many other places. Our home and development is fine, no damage in here to report just the culverts are FULL.

.....And They're Off

First day of school!!! #2 is out of the house first @7:10a.m. and he is actually smiling.

#1 on the other hand leaves at 7:30a.m. and has no will to smile.

#1 wouldn't even look back at me as it was time to go to the bus,as if I was punishing him by sending him to school, unlike #2, he was ready to go!

Summer Is Almost Over~ YIPPEE!! (I think)

Just like my friend AMY it is time for my kids to head back to school, Yippeeeee!!!! I mean my poor, poor kids. Actually POOR POOR ME!!! Do you see all the supplies!!! I broke mine down to each kid and then the big picture. We did not buy any new school shirts just yet because all the rest of what we needed broke the bank =(

First #3~ She is off to preschool. The preschool is costing $132 per month and she only goes on Mon., Wed., Fri. and if we want her to stay for lunch we have to pay an additional $3 for each day she stays. Here are her classroom supplies.

Second #2~ He is going into his last year of elementary school 5th Grade. He has quite the list from binders to post-it notes to a whole pack of red pens- (must be they will do the grading for the teacher this year) to scotch tape. Tissues and paper towels because wouldn't you know that even though we are going to PUBLIC school we have to buy supplies like we are sending the kids to PRIVATE school. The county even only allows each teacher a case of paper per semester so we are asked to bring a ream of copy paper as part of our supplies. I have yet to pick that up because it TICKS me off that I have to supply that also~don't even get me going!!

Finally #1~ He is off to his last year of middle school, 8th grade. I thought #2's list was bad but #1 is putting me into the poor house. Each teacher, that is the 4 main subjects, has to have their OWN binder for their class. I have yet to hear what health wants them to have. So we have to buy 4 binders along with 5 dividers each and many many other things. The usual paper towels, tissues, and now hand sanitizer . They also had a wish list from copy paper to hand soap- so I guess now the schools will not provide HAND SOAP!!!

And this is what it all looks like together....

I still have to pick up Expo Markers, more loose leaf paper, because the 8 packs I picked up isn't enough and more pencils because the 48 I picked up isn't enough.

The bright side........ I am getting my well deserved, well needed 6+ hours of PEACE and QUIET~ Monday thru Friday (at least from #2 and #1) and 4+ hours from #3!! The phone will be off the hook, door bell wire cut and the quiet is ALL MINE!!!!

Specialist Appointment

Hi to my one reader in the blog world. I wanted to update you since my more-doctors-more-tests. My doctors that found the nodules on my thyroid have referred me to a Specialist~ endocrinologist, however I can not get in to see him until.... OCTOBER 2nd!!!!! Why does it take so long to get into a specialist. Sad thing is that this is the same specialist that I went to 7 years ago and they did the original scan on my neck but since it had been so long I am a NEW patient AGAIN!!!! That is so not right seeing the still have a file in their office on me, ugggg!!! So I will sit and stew until the 2nd hoping that everything is ok.

More Doctors, More Tests

Hope you all in the Blog world are having a great start to your day! I anticipated getting our travel photos and related blog up today for my one reader to see, however I have a different topic this morning... Hypothyroidism.
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid almost 10 years ago, about a year after moving to NC. I had put on A LOT of WEIGHT, I was LOSING my HAIR in clumps, I was very very TIRED. I figured I was just depressed moving away from my family. I had 2 kids that my sisters and my dad were not going to see growing up yadda yadda. Although I did have a bought with depression, not afraid to say it, it was my thyroid making things worse.
On Tuesday I had to go for my yearly checkup for my thyroid. Lots of questions... How are you feeling, Are you tired/fatigue, having heart palpitations? I say, I am feeling ok, yes I am always tired, yes I always have them it is nothing new, should it be? I wanted to say.... HELLO, you have been treating me for almost the entire time I have been diagnosed and in my chart it should say I have all this stuff and I know you have to ask but when the look on your face is shock about palpitations- HELP me out, should I be doing something about it??? So she feels my neck which is funny, yes you can feel it but the other doctor I normally see at that office makes me drink a little water to feel and she didn't so I am wondering hmmm, she must know alot about thyroid or know exactly where it is to feel OR is she just playing along!?! That wasn't nice, I know but you should know me... I HATE drs!!!! I hate having to stop my day and go, and wait and wait and wait FOREVER in the office for them to come in for 5 mins and write me a new prescription and send me on my way. I think since I go to that appointment once a year and wait and wait and WAIT they should have to listen to me babble for the same amount of time I had to wait for them. Even if I am just trying to be sarcastic, almost like a one woman show.
Then the doc sends me over to get blood drawn-UGGGG I HATE this more because my veins like to play HIDE & SEEK. SO after 5 mins of trying to locate a vein, she sticks the needle in and voila...NOTHING!!!!!!! I figured I am on my way to the heavens at this point, I have NO BLOOD!!! Not really my vein collapsed, typical. She used the smallest needle and then she moved the needle around in my arm trying to get the blood but nooooo my vein wasn't having that either. So she had to go to my hand, did you know it hurts worse to get a needle in the hand then in your arm? Well I will tell you it does!!!
Then they sent me to another woman who had to make a Radiology appointment for me because after almost 10 years of just being on medicine for my thyroid problem, I now have some swelling in that area. GREAT I think, just GREAT~ good thing we have insurance again!!! Well they got me right in the next afternoon. I went in and they did an ultrasound on my neck, where my thyroid is located. Of course I try to ask if it is anything that I need to worry about, the tech can not answer me, won't tell me anything, don't you just hate that???
Anyways...I got the phone call this morning @ 9:28am with my very vague results. They have found 2 nodules on the left side and are referring me out to an Endocrinologist. OK what does that mean??? It could be nothing it could be something. I am waiting to hear when my appointment is and I will keep you updated, just think good thoughts for me please =) I tried to ask questions on the phone but she couldn't tell me anything, wouldn't even let me know how big the nodules were, are they just forming or have they been there? Nothing!!!! If anyone has an endocrinologist friend and they can tell me the questions I should be asking when I go to the drs , drop me an email.

30 days and counting.....

So here it has been a couple days over my first 30 days of my new "diet" plan. I would like to report that so far so good. I am only on water, however I have come across Crystal Light, only 5 calories!!!! That is my last drink of the night when I need a little bit of sweet to end my day. I am quite proud of myself and have moved onto the next phase of NO FRIED FOODS. These 30 days along with still on water should be a breeze!! I do not eat a lot of fried food at all, we grill and bake just about everything. I just need some snack ideas besides Wheat Thins~(I LOVE these), so I can stay away from chips~ especially Salt&Vinegar~(my other favorite)!!!! So if you have a better tasting than cardboard snack let me know... Also within these 30 days~I am joining the GYM~ yep I said it, I have to tone and flatten this fat!

Hopefully tomorrow I will get up our vacation pictures, stay tuned......
