Some of you may know, most of you may not. I lost my 6 hours of semi-peace and quiet WED.!!!! What a sad, sad day =( The day started like this....
I awake at approx. 3a.m. to the crackle of thunder and some bright flashing lights. I hear rain, a VERY HARD RAIN. I look out the window and the rain is coming down in SHEETS!! It had been raining pretty much all day into the night.
I turn the t.v. on and we are having a major rain and under a tornado watch. I turn the t.v. back off and fall asleep to be awoken again at 6a.m. to the sound of the phone. I answer it and it is our school superintendent, letting us know school will be delayed 2hours due to the rain and FLOODING!!! I get up and turn off the boys alarm clock and skipped mine up a couple hours~ yeah sleep!!!
Anyways, I sense someone over my bed and there is #2, 3rd day of school and he has a built in alarm clock already, saying Mommy it is 7:05a.m. Worried like I have overslept and so has he. I said it is ok go back to bed you are on a 2hr delay. He said ok. Just as I closed my eyes, thinking I am going to get a little more sleep the phone rang at 7:10a.m. The voice of that darn superintendent again.... Due to major flooding in our area school will be closed today, yadda yadda. I really didn't hear what he had to say after that because I went into crisis mode~ MY KIDS ARE HOME ALL DAY ALREADY!!!!! HELP!!!!!
Then #2 makes his way into my room AGAIN, as if to rub salt into an open wound, Mommy school is cancelled today, I just rolled over and in a disgusted voice told him I knew, and tried to fall back asleep, tried to sleep my day away however my kids would have NONE of that! I was up at 8am, not to bad and the chaos already had started!!!
Now I know we needed rain , however we didn't need this much rain, dearest Mother Nature, Hurricane Faye or whomever is taking responsibility!
That article link above is the county we live in. Right near #1's Middle school was where a lot of flooding happened among many other places. Our home and development is fine, no damage in here to report just the culverts are FULL.
