Moody Monday

SO...... I am still walking, walking, walking! Yes, great, but... the diet-YUCK! I keep "slipping" if you kow what I mean. I just do not have the diet food will power. I need help, walking alone will not fix all that I have to work off. So some shopping helped a little bit! I mean I walked A LOT in all the stores I went to. Found lots of cute things for #3's new room. I just painted her room last summer and I am ready to redo after seeing my neighbors little girls room. I thought I was creative, nope not as creative as my neighbor. I asked if she cared that I stole her idea and am using it for #3's room and she didn't care and even gave me all her extra stuff. When it is done I will post the picture. So because I couldn't eat another salad ~ I went shopping. The best thing about stealing an idea ~ EVERYTHING that I found for #3's room was clearanced and that changed my mood =)for Monday. Although I do not want another salad! Also posted a few new pics of the kids, enjoy!

The Time has Come

Today is the day I go to the grocery store and buy all that dreaded "diet" food! Time I go back to making 2 meals one for the family and then mine. I have decided that for the rest of the summer I am going to eat salads and starve;) I love salads, that is what I order when we go out to eat. My downfall...being home and having a cabinet of typical snack food meant for the kids. My new favorite snack Wheat Thins and Cheese Nips- YUMMY! It is my indulgence once the kids go to bed. Normally you would think ICE CREAM or CHOCOLATE. Trust me there were many days, I mean MANY DAYS when I went for the chocolate, ice cream I could pass by without a second thought, but nowadays I like the salty cracker.
This is going to be tough and if anyone has any great HEATHLY salad recipes for me to try or healthy food ideas, snacks, breakfast etc...I would love to hear from you. I will try anything, I mean ANYTHING-however I am like many others and just do not know where to begin. Maybe I will be brave and post a before and after picture, ( if you promise not to laugh).
I think this would be easier if I had someone to buy and make all my "diet" meals and to be on my A** everyday getting me out and walking. I won't say how much weight I have to lose because I just can not bring my self to say it yet. However I NEED to do this. I just realized that every year I keep getting another year older and now at 34 there is no better time then NOW to start to reverse my age or at least the appearance of my age~ I am going for the 18-20 yr old look, without the hair, hahaha!
I have my list made and I am ready to run with it. I have my calendar made and I am ready to cross off all the summer days with hopes in the end to be down a few sizes. I also wiped the dust off my exercise videos and bought new walking sneakers. If I can drop enough weight I would like to get back into running, right now I don't think my knees could take it. I am trying this first before running to my drs and getting the latest weight loss medicines. Wish me luck =)

Happy Father's Day=)

I hope everyone out there has a Wonderful Father's Day!! If your dad is not close by, I hope that you reach for that phone and call him and let him know how special he is, and how much he means to you.
If he is by your side, give him that hug and let him know the appreciation and love you have for him.
If you are not blessed with having your dad by your side or on the phone today, look up to the heavens and let him know how much he is missed, loved and appreciated for all he has ever done for you. This may sound silly and I am sure others out there will think I am crazy, however write your dad who is no longer with you a letter and let him know your feelings and thoughts about today. It is great therapy when you really miss someone =) I do this around Mother's Day for I have been without my mom for 22 years. I write her and let her know how much I miss her and wish that she was here to see all I had become and that I owe it all to her. Then I can enjoy my day with my kids.
with that said... Happy Father's Day to all the dad's, daddy's, fathers, poppy's, grandpa's, papa's and so on....

Summer Vacation!!

I can not belive it, it is finally here... SUMMER VACATION!!!!! First official day and I am sitting here with only one child. How did that happen already? The house is super quiet,(sweet). #3 is at her last day of daycare, only because I had a luncheon that I had to attend with the school I was working at and I could not leave her home with #2, so she had one last day to go. #2 stayed and played video games while I was gone~the house is still standing when I got home too, PHEW! #1 went right to a friends house yesterday after school got out. He had 1/2 a day yesterday when he was done with exams. He will be home in a couple hours, then all the chaos will break out!!
We are finishing our 1st day of summer break this evening when we go out to eat with a friend I have not seen in probably 15+ year! She lives in Az, and when I was younger, still at home, we would travel to Az and see the James family. They use to live next door to us in NY before they moved to Az. We visited them in Az when my mom was alive and once she passed we found ourselves there for a few Christmas holidays. I do not remember the last time we went but I know it was when I was in high school. Anyways to make a long story a little short, we are meeting up with my dear friend because she is in town, not too far from me and having dinner with my kids and my dad. I can not wait to see her and I really hope my kids bring that great behavior that I know they have, with them this evening. I am bringing the camera and if all goes well I will post a picture or 2 =).
Tomorrow we are off to swim and somewhat escape this warm weather we are having here. It is still hot today but not as bad as the last 5 days were. Still in the 90's but at least it is not 99-100, ugggg!
I hope you all enjoy your summer break, that is if yours has started. Maybe I will now find the time to post more often and keep everyone updated with our going's on.

Getting Closer....

It is definitely feeling like the last days of school. Awards programs are well underway and you can sense the silent competition between the parents wondering what award their child will receive. The kids can not contain their enthusiasm at all. They just talk, talk, and talk some more. I can not get their attention at least not today for I have a frog in my ever so sore throat and I can not even get a loud SHHHHHH out! UGGGGGGG-so I just bring lots of Tylenol and take it throughout my day to cope. Teachers are loading up on end of year goodies for their Ice Cream Parties and Beach Day.

Today I left my job at school with almost a full day in to attend #1's Awards Ceremony. Not sure how it works where you are at but here they really do not want you to attend the Awards Program unless your child is getting an award. So as we all park it is a mad dash to get the best seat to take pictures of your brain child that you know is going to sweep awards, well at least you hope.

As we go down through the very long list of awards, we finally come to one that #1 will get come the last day of school when he attends- Perfect Attendance . Not sure how any of my kids get that with how sick we have been this year, I guess he has just fought through it all better than myself, #2 and #3.

We move onto A/B and A Honor Roll. A huge showing for A/B Honor Roll and maybe a fourth of it for A Honor Roll and #1 took another honor in the A Honor Roll, we are once again glowing for how proud we are =) We moved onto highest average in the Encore Class for the school year. These classes are keyboarding, business technology, bio technology, art, music etc... This one I think would be hard to get due to the kids rotate every 9 weeks to another encore class and they are in competition with everyone in 7th grade that took that class throughout the year. #1 did not get the one that he thought and we thought he would get, which is a.o.k. He did get the award for Highest Average in Keyboarding- yes a class that I just got through, didn't care etc... and that is why #1 types way better and faster than me=) That is 3 awards now for those keeping track.

We finally get down to his team awards, Alphabetically they are the last team to present. Finally, as they go through highest average for the 4 main classes #1 gets the medal for Highest Average in Social Studies- whoa, hold the boat.... IS THIS MY KID?????? I slept through that class I believe. I couldn't even tell you when the war of 1812 was!!! Ok, ok, maybe I know when that was but I mean come on, not my area of expertise or did I even care where California was compared to NY?!!!! Continents??? We live on one right? No matter I am still proud, STUMPED but proud! Then they go through mentionables for each subject and yeah great job to all the kids. Finally we have about 4 awards left for like moral boosting in a way. #1 once again received an award for Most Dedicated Could I be more proud? That explains #1 no matter what he is doing, when he is doing it, he will give it his all and complete the job- besides he doesn't like to come in second;)with his very competitive nature.

So yes if you were keeping track as I did, #1 took home 5 awards today from the 7th Grade Awards Ceremony! Way to go #1- We couldn't be prouder of you!!!! Look out 8th grade here he comes =)
